Another football Sunday, another day of Swifties asking this essential question: did Taylor Swift go to the Chiefs game today? The Kansas City team faced the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on October 8, 2023, leaving many wondering if the Midnights singer was once again among the thousands in the stands.

The 33-year-old pop star spent the last two weekends cheering on Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce as his team faced the New York Jets and the Chicago Bears. Her first game—which took place at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, on September 24, 2023—came after weeks of dating rumors surrounding her and the NFL player. During the match, she was photographed cheering alongside Kelce’s mom, Donna, in a private suite after he scored a touchdown. Later that evening, Swift drove off in Kelce’s car and the pair reportedly attended an after party together with his teammates at a local restaurant.

Swift attended her second football game in a row in support of Kelce and the Chiefs on October 1, 2023. This time around, she came with famous friends in tow: Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Sabrina Carpenter, Antoni Porowski, and Hugh Jackman were all spotted alongside Swift in Kelce’s VIP suite at the game, which took place at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey—the Jets’ home field.

Given her track record over the last couple of games, it’s only natural that football fans and Swifties alike are trying to find out if Taylor Swift made it to Kelce’s latest match. For everything we know about whether Taylor Swift went to the Chiefs game today, keep on reading below.

Did Taylor Swift go to the Chiefs game today?

So, did Taylor Swift go to the Chiefs game today? The answer is… no. While many fans of the 1989 (Taylor’s Version) singer hoped to see her cheering on Travis Kelce as his team played against the Vikings on Sunday, October 8, it appears that she had other plans for the night.

Shortly after kickoff, NFL announcers confirmed Swift’s absence from the game. “In case you’re wondering, seven words I thought would never leave my lips in my career, what are they? Taylor Swift is not at the game,” commentator Jim Nantz told viewers. “There are some brokenhearted people I just saw in the stands. She was questionable all week, but it looks like it’s officially inactive for today.”

Swift’s absence had plenty on social media expressing their disappointment—while others weighed in on what this might mean for her relationship with Kelce. The tight end had a tough game against the Vikings, suffering a non-contact ankle injury before halftime. Following his injury, the 34-year-old was seen limping to the locker room. The Chiefs’ official Twitter account also tweeted that he was “questionable to return” to the game.

But Kelce pulled through. He returned to the field after halftime and scored a touchdown for his team, who won 27-20 against the Vikings. Even if Taylor Swift wasn’t there to see it, a win’s a win!
